Dates

26th April to 1st May 2017

Itinerary

The Pangolin Photo Festival Chobe 2017 is spread over 6 days based at Chobe Safari Lodge which is the closest lodge to the entrance to the park. We have deliberately chosen these dates to make the most of the May 1st Public holiday weekend.

Whether you are arriving by air straight into Kasane or by road from another destination like Victoria Falls we will ensure that you arrive at Chobe Safari Lodge in time to check in and meet your fellow festival goers in plenty of time before heading out onto your first game activity.

As with MaYdikwe in 2016 you will be divided up into 4 groups of 6 people who you will be photographing with during your time with us. We obviously like to keep people traveling together in the same groups but you will have plenty of opportunities to mingle with everyone else at the evening events, editing sessions and the talks given by the host photographers throughout the event.

We will do one morning and one afternoon activity per day with a total of 10 game drives or boat cruises over the 6 days. On every game activity you will be joined by a different photo host who will be on hand to help you with your photography and share their knowledge of this amazing photographic location.

In between activities there is time to do some editing at the lodge and we will be setting up a media centre for us all to meet in after brunch. We strongly suggest that you bring a laptop with you for these editing sessions as access to computers in Kasane is limited.

For those wanting to take it a bit easier during the day there is a huge pool to relax by with a good book as well as an excellent spa in the grounds of the lodge.

In the evening times the photo hosts will present some of their own images and share with you tips and techniques that they have mastered over the years and hope to help you take different types of shots.

The Pangolin Photo Festivals are a great way to meet like minded photographers and get some great shots while also donating R5000 per person from the cost of the safari to saving the pangolin.

If you would like to extend your stay in Botswana or indeed any neighbouring country then our travel planners will be more than happy to build you a longer itinerary.

Photo Tip

Internet access in Kasane is not the best. Its ok for emails and social media posts but not for downloading software updates. We strongly suggest that you update any post production program (like Lightroom or photoshop) on your laptops to the latest versions before you travel so you don’t have to worry about that when you are there.
