The Pangolin Khwai Camp (recently rebranded as The Jackal and Hide) has seven Meru-style en-suite tents each with views out across the surrounding grassy plains and wetlands. The rooms are decorated in a sophisticated, yet understated, style with plenty of space, luggage storage, electricity and hot water from the solar geysers.
Each room can be configured as either a double bed or twin beds and are surrounded by mosquito nets with a fan above for those warmer nights. The rooms are well spaced with a single lighted path leading back to the communal lounge and dining area. The central communal space comprises a dining area, photo editing table, sunken lounge, bar and in front a raised fireplace with seating for all our guests under the African Stars. With a maximum of only twelve guests in camp at any one time, there are plenty of places to relax with views across the grasslands… a favourite for plains game and elephants to roam. The Pangolin Khwai Camp is in the Okavango Delta ecosystem on one of the Northern fingers of the Delta.
To get to the camp, you can fly directly from The Chobe or Maun into our airstrip on a private charter which we will be happy to organise for you. It is possible to drive from Maun and it takes approximately three hours to the reserve. The drive requires a 4×4 and a decent level of experience in off-road driving. If you really want to arrive in style we will be happy to organise a helicopter transfer from Maun right to the camp with a scenic flight along the way. The food at the Pangolin Khwai Camp can best be described as fresh and hearty.
At every meal we try to offer a little of something for everyone using locally sourced produce carefully and lovingly prepared by the Chef and her team. We are able to cater for vegetarian and vegan clients as well as any allergies or special dietary requirements or intolerances given enough notice. The bar is well stocked with regional wines, beers and spirits as well as all the soft drinks and mixers you require.
During the meals we offer a selection of wines paired with the menu of the day served at the table.
